Smile Motion

Did you know that... you can not only use your phone to locate the tracker, but also ring the phone with the tracker?

More about the product

What is the difference between the PRO and Motion versions?

The SMILE PRO version offers innovation in all aspects Louder ringtones – the PRO version beeps much louder.
Multiconnection feature – previous versions could only connect to one device at a time. This is no longer the case, the PRO version connects to up to three devices at the same time.
Bluetooth 5 – compared to SMILE Motion, which was connected with BT 4.2, we have now switched to version 5.0. This allows the tracker to transfer more sensor data if needed, as well as reducing power consumption and higher range through walls in densely populated areas.
Improved antenna – allows SMILE Pro to transmit further than the Motion version

Bluetooth on your phone sees the tracker, but the SMILE app won't pair it.

Make sure you have location services enabled on your phone and for the app. If not, SMILE will not be able to connect to the app.

How do I set up the motion sensor?

In the “My devices” tab, select the SMILE you want to set up. Next, under the Features tab, click on “Turn on motion sensor”. Then click on the settings icon in the top right corner. In the ALARM section enable “When moving”, below in the PHONE NOTIFICATION settings enable “When SMILE moves” and then set the “Sensitivity” level.

SMILE shows wrong position.

The SMILE app takes location data directly from the phone. Accuracy is mainly affected by GPS signal strength and the surrounding environment. If SMILE shows a location a few meters off, this is not an error or defect.

How does the safe zone work and how do I set it up correctly?

In the app you can set different zones where you do not want to be disturbed by the SMILE tracker. In the settings, click on “Manage Safe Zones” and then set whether the zone and its size should be determined by Wi-Fi range, a specific address, or the location and its surroundings.

Do I need to have the SMILE app on in the background of my phone?

Yes, the app must still run in the background to be able to work with the SMILE tracker.

When pairing, the app says that SMILE belongs to someone else, how should I proceed?

In case you have access to the account that the SMILE tracker is connected to, select the respective tracker you want to delete on the main page of the app, then click on the settings icon in the top right corner and select “Delete Device” in the menu. In case you no longer have access to your account, please contact our support. Attach the unique ID of the tracker to the disconnect request, which can be found in the same place in the settings.

SMILE wants a password when pairing, where can I find it?

Always pair SMILE only using the FIXED Smart app. In this case, no password is needed.

How do I set up the sharing feature?

In the app, select the SMILE you want to share, then click on the settings icon in the top right corner. Then select the “Manage Sharing” option. Enter the e-mail of the user you want to share the SMILE with, select the period, and click share.

How do I move the order of connected SMILE trackers in the app?

In the app's “My Devices” section, click and hold SMILE and simply move it to the desired position in the list.

How do I send a diagnostics file (LOG)?

In the FIXED Smart app of the “My Devices” section, select the settings icon and then select the “Send Support Inquiry” option. This will send your query to our support including the required diagnostics file. In the text box, please always describe in detail what problems you are having with the tracker or the app.

The SMILE app takes a large part of the phone's performance.

The percentage of app usage always depends on the comparison with other apps. Unless you use other apps more, SMILE visually gets a higher percentage of usage compared to other apps, due to the fact that it is always running in the background and is therefore more often active.

The SMILE tracker disconnects periodically.

In the case of regular disconnections, the operating system itself is usually to blame and the settings need to be adjusted. In this case, please make sure that everything is set up correctly on your phone. TIP: You can find very good setup guides at dontkillmyapp.com.

Why does the SMILE app need to be running in the background all the time?

The application must be open at all times in order to keep SMILE connected and continuously check its position or movement.

The SMILE app will turn itself off after a certain period of time.

If you don't use the app for a long time, it is possible that the phone system will evaluate it as inactive and close it. In this case, you need to set an exception in the battery saving settings for the SMILE app to prevent it from quitting on its own.

How do I find out the ID (identification number) of my SMILE?

In the SMILE app, click on the desired sensor, then click on the settings icon in the top right corner and in the “Device Information” section you will find the ID, which is usually in the XY:XY:XY:XY:XY:XY form.

What is the purpose of connecting my own phone as an additional device?

If you select your own phone in the “Add device” section, this turns your phone into an additional tracker. You can therefore, for example, share your location with your loved ones without using the tracker itself.

Why does the battery drain more when I use the FIXED Smart app?

For the app to work properly, Bluetooth must be on at all times and the app must be running in the background. This obviously has an impact on battery consumption, but it is the only way to keep the app “in sight” of your stuff at all times.

After switching from the old app to the new one, the app or device does not work.

Please make sure that you have uninstalled the old FIXED SMILE app from your phone and also enabled location services. Otherwise, the app does not have sufficient rights to function properly. We are very sorry, but we cannot control this phenomenon through the app.

I cannot log in to the new app with my credentials.

Please make sure that you are entering your details correctly. If so and the login is still not successful, please contact our support and we will perform a manual password reset.

The password reset button is not functional.

If you are unable to reset your password directly from the app, please contact our support. We will perform the password reset manually.

I am unable to “ring” my phone with the pendant, double clicking does not work.

First check if the phone is in silent mode or if the ringing sound is muted. If this is OK check if you have “Enable Notifications” or “Notifications” enabled in the app rights settings. Also check the functionality of the tracker itself, whether the mechanical button responds to a press with a blinking LED or an audible signal.

SMILE beeps when it shouldn't.

The SMILE tracker beeps when it is disconnected from the phone or when it is moving (if you have enabled the motion sensor in the settings). First check that your phone is not closing the Smart app, for example due to long periods of inactivity. If this is the case, set an exception for the app in the battery settings to prevent it from quitting on its own. Then check that the motion sensor settings are correct, or set up safe zones if you don't want to be disturbed.

Can I monitor the location of e.g. dog, car, or child remotely?

You cannot track a dog, car or other object remotely. It is possible to track another person's location via the sharing function provided they also own a phone.

What is the range of SMILE Motion?

The real range of the tracker is about 10–50 meters depending on the surroundings and its obstacles. Although the claimed range of Bluetooth is greater, the size of the antenna in such a small device must also be taken into account, as well as interference from other wireless technologies, which in a densely populated area can also significantly reduce the real range.

What is the battery in the device and how do I replace it?

There is a CR2032 battery in the device. To replace it, carefully open the SMILE at the hole on the corner of the tracker and replace the battery with a new one. Take care not to damage the inside of the sensor.

I own multiple SMILE trackers, but only some of them actively connect.

Although our app does not limit the number of connected Bluetooth devices, the number of devices is usually limited by the phone itself. Please check first how many devices can be connected at the same time on your phone. In case the number of all connected devices does not reach these limits, and you still cannot connect all trackers at once, please contact our support.

What is a safe zone?

A safe zone has the same function as night mode, except that it does not apply to a time period, but to a specific location within a radius you specify, or to a specific Wi-Fi. For example, if you set up a safe zone on your home Wi-Fi, once you connect to the Wi-Fi, you will not be disturbed by notifications about connecting or disconnecting the tracker. For SMILE and SMILE Motion models, the safe zone does not apply to the audio notification of the tracker itself.
